Creation is a process of mutual transformation, where the work and the maker shape one another. These smaller works on paper often emerge during periods of transition, serving as both preparatory and exploratory stages for my larger paintings.

In them, I experiment with building more complex motifs, while also refining or simplifying forms that reappear throughout my practice. Working mostly at A3 scale, these pieces explore the interplay between conscious and unconscious imagery, drawing on ancient symbols and personal dream material to capture moments of change and development.

For these works, I often use watercolour or ink to create a vivid, fluid base, which I then build on with acrylics.
